Earn Money Through the Internet

If you are looking for a fast way to make money, you won’t find it here.  Leave now because you’ll just be disappointed.

You won’t find a lot of hype on this site either.  Ranting yes. But no hype.

So let’s get right to the point.

I am not an internet marketing guru. I am nobody special. I’m an every day ordinary person who used to work a 9 to 5 job (more like 9 to 7) but got interested in internet marketing and then spent a lot of time and some money learning how to do it.

I haven’t mastered the art. But I am making money and my online business is growing.

Recently I notice that the guru hype about internet marketing is getting louder and somewhat parasitic. Yes, I am becoming really jaded and beginning to see these internet gurus as leeches. There are exceptions but they are increasingly rare.

What bugs me is this: I don’t see the internet marketing gurus disclosing the real truths about this business and it just ticks me off.

So listen and learn. Listen to my personal experience. Learn from my mistakes. Take advantage of my knowledge. Think of me as a sounding board or better yet…as a coach.

If you want to earn money through the internet, regardless of the business model that you think you might employ, you absolutely must…

1. Have an open mind.
2. Be capable and willing to follow a plan (someone else’s proven plan or make your own).
3. Be committed to consistently working the plan.
4. Be willing to work hard.
5. Be able and prepared to invest time (daily or weekly).
6. Be prepared to invest some money (see this internet marketing startup budget)
7. See and treat this as a business, a real business.
8. Be lazer focused.

How many internet marketing guru’s talk about the hard cold facts of internet marketing? Few. If any. That’s because open honesty doesn’t sell. I’m not saying that they all flat out lie. Let’s call it lying by omission. They omit some of the hard facts. They paint rosy pictures about how easy it is to make money online. It aint’ always that easy. In fact, when you’re starting out it is rarely easy. But it is doable. And it is more doable when you can learn from someone else’s mistakes. So read on.

What you will find on this site:

1. Information about diverse but free internet marketing learning resources that will get you started.  These are resources provided by reknown experts.
2. Information about tried and proven resources that cost money but that will take you to the next level and accelerate your success.
3. Information about the technical aspects of internet marketing, including tips, tricks, checklists and other resources.

I am talking about detailed information that is written in plain language and especially for people without a technical background. There are a lot of technical skills required to get online. I hope I can take the geek factor out of the information and shorten your learning curve so that you can focus on the most critical activities.

I am on a mission. My mission is to provide truthful information about internet marketing. It is early days (11th of June 2010) so you won’t find a lot of material on this site yet but subscribe to my RSS and stay tuned.
